Hingham Girls Basketball Association (HGBA) is the organization that operates both the in-town intramural league (GALs) and the Hingham Travel Basketball Program. The programs are designed for pre-high school and elementary school girls.

We hope you are all well and staying safe during these unprecedented times. While, like many things today, the specifics of the winter basketball season are uncertain, we wanted to give you an update.
As always, the health and safety of our HGBA players, volunteers, and families is our main concern. As of now, the State of Massachusetts is not allowing competitive basketball games. Additional guidance and a determination regarding the feasibility of a winter season is expected around November 1st.
HGBA has been working hard to prepare for the season, hoping that the COVID-19 numbers will allow for winter basketball. With our fingers crossed, we have a few dates for you to add to your calendar:
*Fall Clinic – Hingham High Varsity Coach Buczynski is offering a free clinic for HGBA players in grades 3-8 on Sunday, November 1st at Starland in Hanover. The clinic will run from 9:00-10:30 for grades 3, 4, and 5 and from 10:30-12:00 for grades 6, 7, and 8. In order to comply with regulations, players will be required to wear masks covering their nose and mouth and each session will be capped at 40 players. Players should plan to wear a reversible jersey and bring a basketball and water bottle. While there will be no cost for the clinic, registration will be required. You can look for registration to open next week.
*Travel Tryouts – please save Sunday, November 15th and Wednesday, November 18th for HGBA travel tryouts for grades 5 - 8. Specific times and more details will follow.
At this time we do not have any additional information about the in-town GALs program for this year. Hingham Public Schools are not allowing third party usage of their gyms, so we are working with local sports complexes to find court time for GALs.
Thank you for your patience as we work hard to balance state and local regulations, the health and safety of all HGBA families, and getting the girls back on the basketball court!
