HGV's longtime Treasurer, Amy Goebel, has moved out of town and her daughter graduated from our program several years ago, so we are actively recruiting another volunteer.
You don't have to be an Accountant -- Amy wasn't! Please read the full article for details of this minimal time commitment, short season position.
Greetings HGV families! My name is Amy Goebel and I have been the Treasurer for Hingham Girls Volleyball since 2012. Unfortunately, my daughter graduated from the program four years ago and the whole family moved away from Hingham 2-1/2 years ago, so it truly is time for a current Hingham parent to take back the reins and contribute to the wonderful program that is HGV.
The time commitment is minimal, as the season is short. The Treasurer is responsible for renewing the league's insurance (simple online process), mailing registration refunds, paying various league bills (e.g., uniforms, equipment, promotional items), monitoring the bank account, sending paperwork to the league's attorney for annual filings, paying the referees, and closing out the books at the end of the season. You do NOT have to be an accountant for this job – I'm certainly not! All the systems are in place and it should be an easy transition.
Please contact Tom Huleatt if you are interested in helping this amazing Hingham program. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me directly at email@example.com or 781-964-5636. I would be more than happy to meet with you and walk you through everything you need to know!
