2017-2018 Club Lacrosse Tryouts

While HGYL affords girls in all grades, and of every skill level, the opportunity to play during the fall, winter, and spring–club lacrosse is also an option for many advanced and dedicated players in our program.

Which club is right for your daughter? If your daughter is already in a club and she likes her coaches, is continuously developing into a better player and, most importantly, enjoying the game, our advice is to stay put. If you are new to the club environment ask around. There are dozens and dozens of Hingham players in each of the clubs below already. You can attend tryouts for multiple programs to get a sense of which program will be a better fit. Ask questions: where practices are and how often, fall/summer tournament schedule, how many teams at each grade and, speak to a coach or grade level coordinator about your daughter.

About Hingham Girls Youth Lacrosse

Hingham Girls Youth Lacrosse is open to girls in grades 1 through 8. Grade 3 through 8 play in a spring travel league from April to June. Grades 1 and 2 (U9 level) play in-town only during the same time. During the spring season, Coaches hold practice once per week. Players are expected to attend both practices and games.

During the fall there is a weekly skills session on Sundays from September through early November outdoors. Fall Ball as we call it is not just for beginners but it is a great time to start if you are new.

During the Winter, there is additional indoor skills and some intramural scrimmaging. This session runs from early November through March. The instruction in the winter is lead by local college coaches and is a great opportunity to continue to get better and smarter about the game of lacrosse.

To participate in HGYL all girls need a regulation women's stick, lacrosse goggles and a mouth guard at all times.

HGYL is an all volunteer organization. We encourage and need parent participation.
Our goal is to have fun & play lacrosse!
